Beneath the dark sky was the city of light. The night was freezing cold. All you could hear was people shouting at each other, trying to get one another’s attention. They were all looking for the saviour of their city. He was no where to be seen! Everyone knew him as annoying boy who had no family. He was an outcast! That didn’t stop him from loving his city even if they hated him he trained hard so that one day they could realise he was one of them and they could have peace with him.

1 week ago (flash back)

All was well in the city of light. Rasingan was training he was wearing his black tracksuit bottoms with his red gloves. Rasingan always had his special necklace on him it was the only thing he knew that his mother had given him before she passed away. Rasingan, who looked like an ordinary kid, was not an ordinary kid at all. His mother was a dragon! She was the dragon who could breathe thunder and fire. Rasingan inherited that from his mother but he has to train hard to unlock it and wield such a power. There was much more to Rasingan then meets the eye!

The next day in the city of light everything was calm, too calm in fact. The air smelt like pineapple fresh from the trees. In the cave of the city light stood Sensai Yang told Rasingan that in two days time there would be a massive war in the village on light. Sensai Yang said that he had too prepare because in this fight to save your village you will have to overcome your fears you will have enormous amounts of power and you will finally be able to wield such a power that your mother couldn’t even control and then died off. 3 hours later. The village of light had been warned about this outcome and they all prepared to fight in this war what they didn’t know was that they would all die if they didn’t have Rasingan to help them. Rasingan who trained hard all day was so tired out he could go sleep he just lied in the grass crying. He thought to him self why would his mother just stayed with him and lived a little bit longer so she could help him wield the power that she could wield. He wants to help save his village but he hasn’t quite unlocked the power yet. suddenly, when he started thinking about his mother he started imagining what she would say and she would have said son carry on and try again. He kept trying. subsequently, a few hours later he could feel a warmth inside himself. Raring inside him he placed his hand on top of each other and said zen bun zakara and then a flame of lightning burst out and started a fire on the tree he was training on. Rasingan bursts into tears and started screaming “sensai sensai I have done it” Rasingan was truly amazed at what he had accomplished and he couldnt bare it any longer he just started saying zen bun zakara like 50 times and destroyed his whole training arena. He just couldn’t believe it soon after he feel asleep. The next day came and the village was waiting outside his doorstep. They were all wearing gas masks because of the fire. They asked him what have you been doing you filthy child. He replied saving your lives. The whole village started laughing and they all shouted clear this place up and then they left. The next days the tremors of darkness appeared in the city of light and everything went dark the would has been turned upside down everyone screamed as they all started running in fear!

Slavery Abolished

Why was slavery abolished in England by 1833?

In 1765 Granville Sharp helped black people around England get their freedom. Black people escaped from their owners just to get a court trial to let them have their freedom. they could do this because it was not illegal have a slave nor was it legal to have a slave so when the black people went to court they could have a chance to get their freedom and Granville sharp helped them do so. In the 1800 there were about 10000 black people in Britain and most of them were set free because of Granville sharp.

Olaudah Equiano was a campaigner who fought for the abolition of slavery as well. He was a slave from the age of 10  he was taken from Africa to Barbados as a slave. He worked as a slave for the ships captain. He travelled widely. He learnt to read and write in London and he became a Christian. He hoped that he would be free but his master took him to America and sold him. However he eventually bought his freedom and he then wrote books about his life so that people could understand how hard a life a slave was and then maybe the white people could understand the pain that the black people were going through at the time. He worked closely with people like Granville sharp and he made loads of white people realise how terrifying a slaves life was. In fact he was the one who wrote about the Zong ship and how terrible it was and how the slaves were cramped into one room and all that. He had a big impact on the abolition of slave trade. unfortunately he died and could not see his people have their freedom he died in 1797 just 10 year before the abolition of slave trade.

In the early 1800 black people started to rebel against slavery and this was called slave revolts. slave revolts happened when the slave rebelled in Jamaica. some of the slave owners got murdered and hurt and after these events the owner knew it was better if they could work with a goal so they paid them instead now and they did not keep them in the houses any more because now they have their freedom and it was easier for the slave owners because now they did not need to feed them and house them. Then from that point on no other slaves were imported into Barbados.

In 1807 William Wilberforce joined a society which worked for the abolition of slavery. William helped by preaching out that it was wrong he spoke to the parliament about it he started a petition as well were 10000 people signed then 20000 then 75000 and finally the point where it went to 1.5 million signatures. people realised it was awful and finally parliament agreed and in 1807 it was illegal to trade slaves but still meant you could own them so it was not fully abolished yet but it was getting there.

After this more people campaigned and then soon after everyone realised it was wrong because they started reading books which told the stories of the slaves lives so people realised how horrific it was they could probably never imagine the pain the slaves went through so should now realise that they have been buying humans and not property they should imagine how difficult it was for the slaves and they should know what would have happened if the white people were slaves they would not like to be treated that way as if they were property and not human beings. This is another reason why people changed their minds and hope the black people will forgive the white people.

In 1833 everyone realised that it was wrong to have a human being as property so finally the slave trade was abolished and you could not longer own slaves sell and buy slaves any more and the freedom of slaves was now. They were no longer slaves but normal human beings again who could look after their families and friends and they could enjoy life once again. They are truly happy now.

2066 Olympics

Today is the beginning of a new era.The days of future past. Today the first robotic Olympics begin which allows the competitors to use their Brian’s to allow them an advantage in the races. Technology is now! Let the world know about robots let them suffer.

I have to win this race if I don’t then then this world will be covered in darkness and the Olympics will never be remembered. I have to do this for him. I wonder suspiciously how I’m going to cheat. I know that there a robots in this race I have to strive and cheat to win. There is no other way it has to be done. I will show these robots Hell!

Time for me to build the ultimate cheat. On top of the hill was the place where I buried the olympiacos. The olympiacos was a huge metal jet which stick to your legs as shoes and when the time came you would use it like a horse powered engine you would be so fast you wont become the flash but you exceed the power of the flash.

I just need to remember where on the hill I left it. Maybe under the tree where the sun never shines. I will just go and grab it before anyone takes it. I wondered that the guy who looked like he has super speed was not fast at all. however me the guy who looks slow was really fast. When I went to the hill I saw the tree which shouldn’t be shining but it was shining this was a sign from the Gods. They realise how important this is they protected my weapon and they made the sun shine on the tree so it can give me some hope.

Macbeth essay

Macbeth uses loads of different ways to interest the audience in to see the play Macbeth. He uses different device such as language features, narrative techniques, dramatic devices and much more. I will now go in to detail about these individually.

First of all Shakespeare talks about the language devices in Macbeth here are some of the specific language devices in Macbeth such as personification, metaphor, pathetic fallacy. Shakespeare uses the language feature personification. Personification is when someone describes something that is not living as something living Shakespeare uses an example in Macbeth were it creates tension so the audience is interested in the play Macbeth.”is this a dagger i see before, the handle towards my hand? In Macbeth there is a scene where Macbeth imagines a dagger leading him to kill the current king, King Duncan. The reason why this is personification is because a dagger cant lead you because a dagger is not a living thing so it cannot move on its own and since it is being described as something leading Macbeth it is being personified. This is one way the audience is interested in Macbeth because it creates tension and people start to imagine what is wrong with the actor because a dagger cant lead you people will think has the actor gone mad and it interests the audience.

The next language device Shakespeare uses is pathetic fallacy. Pathetic fallacy is when the setting or emotion of a person sets the scene. This is a really good language device to get the audience interested in the play Macbeth. Shakespeare gives you an example where this is used in the play Macbeth. “Duncan’s horses turn’d wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out and made war with mankind” When the king Duncan is killed everything turns upside down when I mean upside down there are bad things going on outside such as animals eating other animals, really dark and scary, wind starts blowing and gives a dramatic effect to the scene. Everything turns all dark and mysterious at this point. The audience is interested in this because it gives an effect in the play.

The last device Shakespeare uses is metaphors. Metaphors are when a living thing is described as something not living it is the opposite of personification.Shakespeare gives you an example of a metaphor in Macbeth.”unsex me here and fill me from the crown to the toe top full of direst cruelty” In Macbeth, lady Macbeth says fill me in with direst cruelty and put a lead on it so nothing can come out. She is referring to as herself being a bottle with a lead on with bad things inside her. The audience will be interested and ask questions why she would be doing this and why she is saying these stuff the audience will be interested in Macbeth.

Shakespeare gets his audience interested in Macbeth by using different dramatic devices one of which is a soliloquy. A soliloquy helps us understand the characters ambition the audience get to travel inside the mind of the character and understand their thoughts this is how Shakespeare interests the audience.

In Macbeth, lady Macbeth reveals her ambition. she wants to become a man and she wants to be full of evil and she does not want any light to come in. Here is a part of the soliloquy “Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark, to cry hold hold.”

Lady Macbeth is letting her darkest desires out and says she does not want to be good any more. This is a soliloquy because she is talking to the audience and no one else and the audience gets interested because now they wonder what she will do next and they have now discovered lady Macbeth true personality.

Shakespeare uses another device to interest the audience he uses the props and costume. the reason why it interests the audience is because when you use props such as a dagger people feel tense because what will you do with that. would you kill someone? kill yourself maybe? who knows the audience will have to wait and find out. Shakespeare uses costume to symbolize the characters true features of their personality. He uses darkness on the clothing of the witches to symbolize the witches darkness and evil in them.

Shakespeare keeps his audience engaged in Macbeth through the use of Narrative techniques one of which is dramatic irony were the audience know something that the characters in the play do not know. This increases the tension of the audience because the audience know something which the characters in the play do not know so the audience will ask themselves if the characters in the play will ever find out?

When Macbeth reveals to the audience his darkest desires which is to kill the king he uses this as a quote “let not light see my darkest and deep desires” now the audience gets interested here because they will ask themselves these questions. why is Macbeth saying these things he is loyal to the king? will the king ever find out? will it be to late to stop him? will he change his minds? the audience will just have to wait and see so this interests the audience because they wont know what will happen until the end of the play or at least when the time comes in the play.

These are all things Shakespeare uses to keep his audience interested in the play Macbeth. He uses language features, dramatic device and narrative techniques to keep his audience interested and he uses much more.
